Our first big house project was to give our kitchen a face-lift, we spend a lot of time in here, so it felt like a worthwhile investment!

Cabinet frames are painted! Already made a huge difference in how the space felt. We lived with the kitchen like this for about two weeks.

Now for the real work to begin. The laminate countertops came out, and the granite went in. We picked up all the granite for 375$ on clearance, and when it became clear that having it cut to spec professionally would cost over 2000$, I decided to cut it myself. It came out real nice!

The holes get patched with a moisture and mold resistant sheetrock, and they’re ready for the backsplash

Installing the backsplash: 2 people, 6 hours. Choosing the backsplash: 2 people, 48 hours.

It’s ready for the finishing touches!

The cabinet doors and new hardware finally made their way back into the kitchen.

All in the project cost 2300$, which I was really happy about!
