Bedside Lamp — A masterclass in scope creep
2020
This Christmas present for my fiancé quickly spiraled out of control — One minute I was making a simple little square lamp from some wood cutoffs and spare electronics — then I scope-creeped my way into adding capacitive touch buttons, colors and dimming capability.
Putting my mini-clamps to work. Also love the look of the endgrain :)
Did this project require an ARM cortex M0 processor and an RFM69HCW RF Transmitter-receiver? No. No it did not.
One added bonus of arranging the LEDs like this is that they project a very cool grid pattern on the ceiling above the lamp! We love unintended features.
The scope creep payed off, isn’t this fun!
